- 1⁄2 tsp chili flakes, or to taste
- 2 bay leaves
- 8 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups chicken broth, or stock
- sea salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
- a small bunch of fresh Italian parsley, chopped to garnish
