1️⃣ Prep the Squash
- Slice squash into ¼-inch rounds.
2️⃣ Prepare the Coatings
- Bowl 1: Combine flour, cornmeal, seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Bowl 2: Whisk buttermilk, beaten egg, and 1 tbsp flour together.
3️⃣ Dredge the Squash
- Dip each squash round into the buttermilk mixture, letting excess drip off.
- Coat in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
4️⃣ Fry to Perfection
- Heat ½ inch of oil in a cast-iron skillet to 350°F.
- Fry squash in batches for ~4 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate, then transfer to a wire rack to keep crispy.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!
- Best served hot and crispy with your favorite dipping sauce!
